Changes to CME Connect
Please be informed, effective November 5th, CME Group’s CME Connect and CME Connect CERT
portal applications will no longer support any version of Internet Explorer older than 6.0.
This means that all web-based applications, such as Front-End Clearing (FEC), Clearing 21, and
Document Direct, BPS, GPS, etc. will not be accessible using older browsers.
To check your version of Internet Explorer, open the browser, click on Help in the main menu
bar, select About Internet Explorer, and take note of the Version. If the version starts with
6.0 or greater, your browser will continue to function properly. If it is lower than 6.0, it
will no longer be allowed to access the portal, and the user should contact their technical support
group to have the browser upgraded.
FEC Enhancements
Also as of November 5th, CME Connect and CME Connect CERT will deploy a new featured called
Single Sign-On (SSO). This new authentication feature will allow a user to sign on once to
gain access to all Single Sign-On-eligible applications.
For example, when the user signs on to the portal and selects the Front End Clearing (FEC) link,
a Single Sign-on window will appear requiring the user to enter their FEC password (a.k.a. 3270
password) to gain access to the application. If the user then returns to the main portal
window and clicks on the Deliveries Application link, they will be signed on without having to
enter their verification credentials again. Initially, only FEC and Deliveries will be
eligible for Single Sign-On, but others will eventually be added.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact CME Group Clearing Services
at 312.207.2525, or via email at
ccs@cmegroup.com.
